Dreaming of warmer weather...

Hey peeps! It is officially -41 today! BRRRR! I am hoping if I post some sunshine pics from our pool party will take my mind off this freezing weather! We were lucky enough to have  an indoor pool so I threw a joint party for my two kids. It was a lot of fun so enjoy!
Cake was fairly simple...a chocolate round covered with graham crumb sand. I made a great palm tree using modeling chocolate. Modeling chocolate is like fondant as you can mold it and make great designs but it doesnt taste as nasty as fondant. You can make your own with two ingredients.200 grams of white chocolate and 1/4 cup of light corn syrup. Melt the chocolate in 30 second increments in the microwave and stir each time. Once melted add the corn syrup. Chocolate will stiffen right away. Refrigerate in a ziploc for two hours. Once cooled you need to work it until it is pliable then make into any shape such as bark for my palm tree or leaves. Its chocolate people...so it tastes delicious! It stores for months in a cabinet in a ziploc....I know I know...you,re welcome!

I Made these adorable chocolate dipped strawberries with my friend WILTON CANDY MELTS...did I mention these melt quick, are super affordable and arent hot enough to burn little helping fingers? Wilton did not pay me...lol I just love this product. I found these great flamingo skewers at winners...they know me by name there...its a problem haha. In between that is some cute little sea creatures made form...wilton candy melts . I hid some florists foam brick that I bought at the dollar store under the table cloth so my little creatures floated.

Every summer lua needs pineapple! So i threw some cut up fruit on a stick and drizzled with chocolate...cuz lets face it everything is better with chocolate.

Heres a close up of the swimmers...

and the one legged standers.....

I hit dollar store pay dirt with this table! We found not only coconut cups but also pineapple ones! We bought some margarita mix at Costco and made virgin daquiris and margaritas to quench thirst. I Cut some floral grass skirts and used double sided table to make my table festive. I am going to upload more photos of this party tonight so enjoy this little sunny teaser for now!
